Jake Gyllenhaal's upcoming legal thriller Presumed Innocent is among the marquee television offering
Jake Gyllenhaal's upcoming legal thriller Presumed Innocent is among the marquee television offerings premiering at the 2024 Tribeca Film Festival.
The Apple TV+ miniseries, which premieres on the streaming service on June 14, will be unveiled shortly beforehand at the festival, which runs from June 5–16.
Gyllenhaal, who was previously seen filming the show around Los Angeles last year, stars as a prosector who falls under suspicion after a colleague he was having an affair with is raped and murdered.
The series is adapted from the 1987 novel of the same name by Scott Turow, which was also the basis of the 1990 film Presumed Innocent, starring Harrison Ford in the lead role and directed and co-written by Alan J. Pakula.
Although Tribeca is primarily geared toward unveiling new films, it has several other television offerings this year, including the ESPN documentary In the Arena: Serena Williams, which features the retired tennis superstar recounting the biggest wins of her career.

HBO will also be premiering the first episode of the fourth and final series of My Brilliant Friend, which is based on the acclaimed Neapolitan Quartet novels by Elena Ferrante.

'The episodic realm is rich in phenomenal storytelling, and Tribeca’s 2024 TV and NOW program delivers the very best of narrative and documentary series,' said Tribeca Senior Programmer Liza Domnitz, via a statement.
'Audiences can look forward to diving into the testimonies of brilliant visionaries like Serena Williams, Melissa Etheridge and the original subjects of the Stanford Prison Experiment, all of whom will be joining us at the Festival to present their stories. We’re also thrilled to present international adaptations of beloved books from award-winning novelist Bernardine Evaristo with Mr. Loverman and the farewell season premiere of Elena Ferrante’s stunning My Brilliant Friend.'
The Tribeca Film Festival also announced the lineup for its NOW program, which features a variety of independent pilots and series, including a new documentary series exploring the work of Tim Burton.
